My friend, Bill Peterson, is now offering free shipments throughout the U.S. via his record company, Missouri Valley Music in South Dakota.
To back up the weekly online concerts every Sunday (2 o’clock central standard time in the U.S.) that I’m playing from my apartment in Copenhagen, we’re offering these selected titles (see picture) for only $15 a piece including the postage during the next two weeks. Check it out Missouri Valley Music here www.missourivalleymusic.com or email Bill at missourivalleymusic@sio.midco.net and he can invoice via pay pal.
All the best, stay safe and active with the music!
My good friend and fiddlers-colleague, Steen Jagd Andersen and I have taken the opportunity the past weeks to meet regularly (while keeping the distance) to practice a repertoire of Steens own compositions. A project that we started already some years back together with pianist Malene D. Beck. We’re now working on polishing the music and getting it ready for a recording later this year, more about that in a near future. A taster is already to be found here on youtube.
Between the rehearsals we also stumbled over a schottish-tune from the playing of Dwight Lamb, that we both really like. And it turns out that Steen had made an arrangement of it, here it is for download if you like!
It’s our big pleasure to announce that the “Dwight Lamb’s Danish Tunes – 2nd edition with 5 bonus tunes added” is now available and even with International Shipping! We’ve been working hard on this the past weeks and hope it can be good timing for some of you tune players out there. We hope to help relieve some of the world wide cabin fever that many music lovers have to deal with these days.
So we offer 46 old tunes from the playing of Dwight Lamb and his Danish Grandpa, Chris Jerup and Dwight’s Dad, Clarence Lamb. Transcribed by Jensen & Bugge, published by Edition Svitzer. Warm greetings, stay safe and keep the music flowing!
The front cover of the new CD is painted by Nils Thorlund (based on a photo by Sean Purser) with art work by Ronni Kot Wenzell.
A bit over four years have passed since our first release, Gangspil. However, we haven’t been laying on the lazy side. Besides numerous small tours at home, in Germany, Belgium, Finland and France, we have performed over a 100 concerts in the US and Canada. From being a trio, we are now a duo, that has given us the opportunity to dig deeper into the unisone duo-playing that is at the core of our music. It has also given us the freedom to play with different musicians, each of whom in their own unique way contributes an extra dimension. All this can be heard on this album. Thank you so much, Malene, Vidar, Jacob, Lisbeth and Peter. Our repertoire is constantly growing and four years is a long time. That’s why you’re now holding something as old-fashioned as a double album in your hands. Therefore Gangspil 2. We hope it will bring joy!
The album is exclusively only released in physical form, but our record company will gladly ship it world wide, more via this link!

September is here and thus the autumn season has started with new busyness on many levels. For me, the first exciting and new experience was to be a guest along with good colleagues Lene Halskov Hansen and Kristine Heebøll in the “Hjernekassen” program live on national Danish Radio P1 on Monday the 2nd. If you did not hear it, you can find the program online at the Danish Broadcasting Corporation’s website: www.dr.dk/radio/p1/hjernekassen-pa-p1/hjernekassen-pa-p1-2019-09-02

When we reach November, it’s finally time for our 15th anniversary tour with BALTIC CROSSING to reach Denmark, with two weeks of celebration concerts and a new CD: CARRY ON CROSSING! – Follow more news on www.balticcrossing.com

We are three fiddlers from three very different backgrounds – Danish, American, and Native American – who love to play together. Jamie’s Métis tradition, evolved from the melding of French Canadian, Irish and Native American music, has a Celtic flavor with a hint of Native American drumming. Kristian’s Danish tradition combines bright Nordic melodies with a powerful rhythm and lively fiddle seconding. Ruthie’s American style is syncopated and a bit bluesy. We like to show how each culture brings its own voice to the fiddle. But sometimes we just combine our styles and see what happens! We hope that you will enjoy listening to it, just as much as we enjoy playing it.
